Question: what is the worlds deadliest snake

Keywords: , , ,

  1. Isn’t that the brown snake? Here in Aus? I remember reading about some poor guy recently who fell off his bike onto a brown snake. How unlucky can you be?

Deadliness is measured by how poisonous the venom is. Usually we measure that after doing some tests – so the number of cells or creatures killed/paralysed. Venom is a bunch of organic molecules that stop important processes in the body. In fact one very important medicine that is used around the world to treat high blood pressure in people (Losartan) started out as a molecule from snake venom. We get the weirdest ideas from nature.
