I guess we’re tasty. Why do we eat shark? Many animals are meat-eaters – that’s what they do. We’re meat. So if we swim in the wrong place or wander out into the jungle, the animals are totally justified in thinking we are lunch.
Because they can. These animals eat whatever is convenient. I don’t think a shark particularly wants to eat a human (they prefer seal) but if you’re hanging out nearby then it’s not going to be too picky. Same deal for lions who will kill people who get too close, or if there’s not much other food around.
