I don’t know. There are probably “medicines” you can take that will do this. There are also probably hormones you might be able to get (or make in a lab) that will make you more hairy.
If you’re a werewolf, wait for the moon to come out?
[werewolves don’t exist though]
I’d like to know if hair grows faster in warmer or colder climates. I bet there’s a difference.
First of all we need to know how hair grows. Each hair is embedded in a follicle which is made up of supporting cells. Hair is made from keratin, the same protein that makes up our fingernails. To produce hair, the cells in the follicle divide to form the hair shaft, which pushes out of the follicle. As they are pushed out, the cells become keratinised; they die and are filled with keratin. The more these cells divide, the longer the hair shaft will become.
So to make hair grow more quickly you would have to make the cells in the follicle divide more quickly. I don’t know how you would do this, but you could probably design a drug that would do it. The problem is that it would probably affect other cell types too and you might end up forming tumours.
So, they might all be massive scams, but there are a lot of tips for making your hair grow faster which seem to be reasonably safe.
Some of them are: scalp massage and hot oil treatment to increase circulation and stimulate the follicles, cleaning the scalp properly to remove residue and unblock the follicles, eating a healthy diet, and preventing breakage and damage (doesn’t make it longer but does make it look nice).
There are also a heap of vitamins and supplements and things that claim to make hair grow faster, but I would be very sceptical about how useful they are.
I do not know for certain, but pregnant women seem to grow hair and nails fast. Perhaps the hormones which help the baby grow also helps hair and nails. I am really out of my depth here and all this could be utter nonsense.
To my knowledge, there is no way to make your hair grow faster. Everyone’s hair grows at a different rate, but it’s not something you can change by taking vitamins or using a different shampoo.
Hair grows at different speeds depending on where it is on your body. Have you ever shaved your legs? I always wish the hair on my head got swapped with the hair on my legs – leg hair seems to grow back so much faster than head hair – it’s so unfair!
