Question: why do you want to study this particular protein? how did you discover it?

  1. I didn’t actually discover it. Someone found this protein back in the 90s but not much work has been done on it since then. I’m studying it now because my boss noticed it, thought it was interesting and that it might be important.

When you start out in science you don’t really get to choose anything you want and just work on that. You choose a Lab that is researching things that interest you, then you can talk to them about what sort of projects they have going and what you might like to do.
