Question: what do get when gas and steam mix

Keywords: , ,

  1. Gas = ?? Which gas? Air? You’re not talking about farts, I’m assuming.

Steam is a gas, right? It’s gaseous water at a high temperature. If by gas you mean something explosive, then maybe you’re asking whether the steam could ignite the gas? Like, is it dangerous?

Well, probably not. The steam is only at about 120 degrees C, so not hot enough to make a gas explode. On top of that the steam is water, and doesn’t contain a lot of oxygen. You need oxygen to explode something like that.

If by gas you mean just “air” then I can say if you mix gas and steam you’ll get just cooler steam, which is water, which isn’t very exciting.

Let me know if I’ve missed your point 🙂
