My favourite animal is the Eastern Water Skink – you can see a photo of this lizard on my profile page. It’s not the prettiest animal, but ever since I was a kid I always loved trying to catch these lizards when I went on holidays to the South Coast. Now I get to study them at uni!
I also like reptiles that change colour, like chameleons – there are some baby chameleons at uni that are pretty cool. I like snakes too, but sometimes they freak me out when they hiss at me. I have to hold a big diamond python sometimes during the classes I teach, and it’s so big and strong that it could constrict me if it wanted to, but it’s pretty chilled out. One of my friends is studying baby crocodiles, and another one studies baby goannas. He watches them come out of their eggs – so cool!
