As a boy, I used to play with model kits, Lego and Mecanno. Also things like marbles, and board games. In my science teaching and public talks, I now play with — oops, I mean USE — Lego, solar-powered cars, Mr Potato Head, Magnetix, and plastic balls. Things like camping heat packs are also good for showing chemical change.
